Human rights rest on human dignity. The dignity of man is an ideal worth fighting for and worth dying for.
=== A Quote by Robert Maynard ===
Today is a special day.
Across the globe, thousands of bloggers are uniting to join the Stop to Abuse Campaign.
As you all know, abuse has so many faces and one of them is the emotional abuse.
I have seen the damage of this kind of abuse. A soul was being violated and - raped. Most victims quietly carry the emotional scars as if nothing happened. Only beneath their smiles, lay a very much broken soul. And dignity is possibly a foreign word to them. A sense of “I” has hid in their closets.

Thus, it’s the day that we are all reminded again about those silent victims. Many have survived but many still remain in the shadows. Each day their existence as a person is being invalidated again - and again.
I have this hope that through this campaign, more people will recognize abuse as an epidemic while on the other hand, at the same time, we are reaching out to the victims.
And yes, in one accord, WE ARE BREWING HOPE.

The I’s of Me
=== by Unknown Author (”Twilight Child”) ===
There are too many voices
I cannot see
I cannot hear
the real Me.
Am I alive
or did I die?
Did I forget myself?
I keep wondering why
I am not an I
I am not a Me
There are others locked inside of me.
they have a lot to say
in spite of Me.

I love your post, it is the widespread emotional abuse that affects many people. Thank you for sharing the efforts. I hope I have the time to come up with something later after work. I wish I can buy 2 hours of free time everyday for blogging. Right now, I borrow an hour or 2 from my sleeping at night and count on my alarm to wake up an hour early from normal.
Hin Man, Thank you for your kind comments.
It’s the unknown poem author who inspired me to write this post. As you could tell her poem portrays deep emotions beyond anybody could comprehend. only her could perfectly explain to us what an emotional abuse is.
Today, as a woman, I just feel obligated to stand up against this epidemic abuse.
I obviously don’t know the silent victims but, somehow, we would like to give them HOPE - through our written words.
YEs, I agree with you blogging requires a lot of time. Frankly, it’s hard for me to find time too.
Again, many thanks for your encouraging comments regarding my blog. Ah, WITHOUT the power of positive words by other fellow bloggers, I don’t think I could still be in blogosphere.
Have a blessed week! ~ Annita
Hi Annita,
Recently, there was a very sad incident that happened in my country. An 8-year-old girl, who was kidnapped a month ago, was found dead. Her naked body was found stuffed in a sports bag. Post-mortem results indicate that she died after a brinjal and a cucumber were forced into her private parts, rupturing her intestines.
What is happening to this world?
Zunnur, your question did stumble me.
As a person and a mother, the eerie murder story affected my thoughts.
Last night, when I asked myself what’s happening in this world, Emily suddenly woke up and approached me.
I looked into her eyes and in that very moment, I realize our children is actually the face of the future.
On our children, we rest our hopes for this world. It would be on their hands - and not ours anymore.
I do hope while our children still under our wings, we could teach them about love and compassion for others.
Frankly, I have this hope that my children will carry these in their hearts.
A drop of love and compassion somehow could make a difference in their world.
As hate is contagious and SO IS COMPASSION (and I do hope many will prefer to choose COMPASSION over hatred).
Blessings for you.
the end of the poem really hits home
“There are others locked inside of me.
they have a lot to say
in spite of Me.”
the silent victims that hold it all in and never feel comfortable or capable of communicating their hurts…it is heart breaking I hope that we as a people will learn to love each other instead of hurting one another.
Thank you for this beautiful and thought provoking post

Marenda, Thank you for stopping by at my site. I apologize for this late reply as for some unknown reason, your comment was directly placed in my spam folder by wordpress. I didn’t know about it till I checked the folder.
Speaking of the poem on this post,
I, myself, couldn’t understand either how somebody who confesses to love the other person could do ’such harm.’
The unknown author of The I’s of Me provides us a tiny window about what an emotional abuse is.
It’s a good thing that we all bloggers united to bring up this abuse topic. I just have this believe to the power of written words. Yes, my friend, together we could move mountains. Together.
