In Autumn …

Season has changed its clothes.
Likewise, weather has embraced different moods.
A row of down jackets. And a row of boots. All silently await for their owners.
Your steps by the front door are suddenly stopped as nature eagerly greets you. A sleepy head is awakened when gentle cold breezes land a kiss on your cold cheeks.
Blown by cold winds, a red maple leaf gracefully fell down on a cold ground while a mother and a child snuggled on a big couch reading “All Falling Down.”
When sun is on the horizon, window blinds are pulled up high to welcome sun rays in our living room. The warmth of sun on a chilly day is like baked cookies fresh from the oven.
The sky darkens by late afternoons as sun sleeps early in the winter.
The warm of comfort foods invite everybody to the table while gentle rains pour down from the dark sky. Rain drops gleefully gather in puddles preparing sweet surprises for little feet in rain-boots.
This is our third Autumn in British Columbia. Each year has never been the same as nature seems always to have its own surprises.
Some were anticipated, some were not. But still, we are fond of the memories.
As the weekend is near close, wishing you all a pleasant weekend.
Hope all is well and God Bless.
PS. The song on this YouTube is “The Autumn Leaves” by Paula Cole. Somebody told me it is NOT Diana Krall. Big Ops. Sorry for the confusion.

Actually, Diana Krall has not recorded Autumn Leaves. This recording is by Paula Cole.
THANK YOU for the info!!! Ops.
I’m so glad somebody told me about this otherwise …
I’ve updated my post.
Take care there ~ Annita
Simply beautiful Annita.
Annita, you are toning your literary muscles lately! I am impressed! You’re utilizing some great literary techniques. For example, you are taking imagery into great consideration. I also like your use of a few fragmented sentences in order to convey a more precise mood and situation.
The baked cookie simile was also a nice touch. Beautiful work.
Hi Annita,
I’m so glad that you’re still here. I just started going online again and rushed myself here when I saw your message about the “exit”.
I totally agree with Erina’s comment, you have arranged such beautiful words. I also noticed that your sidebar is colourful and attractive now
Congratulations for all the awards that you’ve received when I was away.
JACKIE:

Unfortunately there is some kind of virus going around that has affected the trees here this year making them dull and lacking the beautiful colors they normally sport this time of year. It’s quite depressing
Ahh so beautiful Annita. I love this poem. Thank you for it. You found the perfect picture as well. Simply awesome.
Hello “Antibarbie”!!
thanks for dropping by
your story about the leaves reminded me to what happened to our oak tree .. back in TX.
yes, they said it’s a kind of virus tree. though to be precise I’m clueless how they got it.
…. which would be not a good thing!!!
our tree got dull leaves and soon afterwards it died.
We must chop it down before it would topple on our house
apparently the virus also affected our neighbor’s trees. same story. theirs had to be chopped down as well
…
It’s kinda depressing when I saw those used to be beautiful strong trees had to die.
I felt I had to say a good bye to an old friend.
Nature is such a precious gift.
Take care there

Annita,
The break was good. Hey, you still remember “ketupat” and the chicken curry! I better don’t remind you of “rendang”…oppss..
You shouldn’t be thinking of departing at this time as your blog is doing very well, and your posts are great too. I agree, blogging does require a lot of time. May be, you can take a short break and come back after that. Your friends will miss you if you make an exit.
Thank you very much for the awards, I will pick them up soon.
Zunnur,
you just reminded me of ‘rendang’!!!!!!!!! LOL … some oriental supermarkets have ready to make ingredients for rendang .. hmm, yeah, not as good as the original taste .. I LOVE MELAYU FOOD!!
